Early menopause sometimes referred to as premature ovarian failure or primary ovarian insufficiency which basically means that the ovaries have lost their normal function before a woman reaches the age of 40.  When ovaries lose their normal function, it means that they are unable to produce normal amounts of the hormones (oestrogen and progesterone). When these hormones are low a woman’s periods may be irregular, shorter or longer than usual. Don’t even ask me about pooping! Yho, those were the days. I literally cried when I had to poop, it was like pooping a ball of needles!!! I hated it. My mom would remind me to take laxatives before I had my periods so that I can manage that part.
